service offerings

if you are interested in any of the services that i offer, please feel free to admin@mbentley.net. all of the services that i offer are free to friends and forum members.

certificate services

• certificates should be used for testing only since my certificates are not verified by a certificate authority
• i do have a CA certificate available if you are interested in using my SSL certificates on a permenant basis (not recommended)
• each user will be able to request certificates themself with immediate turn around time

exchange accounts

• my server is running microsoft exchange 2003
• each account has an unlimited amount of storage space so there is no quota limit
• connections can be made via imap, outlook web access or outlook mobile access
• i do have spam filtering in place to prevent junk email from reaching your inbox

shell accounts

• my server is running debian lenny on an intel quad core with 8 gb of ram
• i will allow any type of process as long as it is not too cpu or memory intensive

web hosting

• i am not running a ftp service on my server. all files must be transferred using a scp program such as winscp
• i will not post anything that can be considered to be controversial or illegal so think before you upload
• i will keep the files you have for basically as long as you like, but please remember to keep the terms of service (found below) in mind
• i will allow every person to have 1 GB of storage space, pending changes due to a large growth in interest
• i will create a subdomain under mbentley.net upon request (example: http://yourname.mbentley.net/)

terms of service (tos)

• at any time i reserve the right to revoke certificates, exchange accounts, shell accounts or web sites for tos violations.
• i am not able to guarantee 24/7/365 uptime but i'd estimate at least 99% uptime.
• i will be keeping my server up to date and will require brief restarts to accomodate such updates.
• i will try to keep any downtimes set to sunday mornings if at all possible.
• for shell accounts, if you want/need an application, just e-mail me to request it.
• if there is a technical error, please report it to me.
